Safe, Controlled Flame Simulation for Sierra Detectors

The DT-201 is a factory-approved handheld UV/IR test source designed to verify proper operation of Sierra flame detectors without using an open flame. It simulates the optical signature of a real fire, allowing technicians to confirm detector response safely and efficiently.

The DT-201 is commonly used with RED1 explosion-proof detectors, DCR1 corrosion-resistant models, and CFD indoor units. Whether the detector is installed in a refinery, semiconductor wet bench, or controlled industrial space, the DT-201 provides a consistent and repeatable way to confirm system functionality.

In environments where live fire testing is impractical, disruptive, or unsafe, the DT-201 becomes an essential commissioning and maintenance tool.

Designed for Hazardous Industrial Environments

Unlike generic light sources or improvised test methods, the DT-201 is engineered specifically for industrial flame detection systems. It emits a steady-state ultraviolet signal along with a modulated infrared signal at 4 Hz, replicating the spectral pattern of a typical fire.

Its explosion-proof, NEMA 4X rated enclosure allows it to be used in hazardous locations, making it suitable for oil and gas facilities, chemical plants, and other classified environments.

By using the DT-201, technicians can verify detector performance while maintaining compliance with NFPA 72 flame testing requirements.
